Lord sees in different way than man. Better is to look at Jesus not at the problems. My eyes are always on the Lord, Ps.25,15 Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is bad, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is! Mat. 6;22 Lord help me to have my eyes always on You in order my body to be crucified.

If we truly hold to Him and His refining fire, then the dross will be burnt out - Jesus specifically addressed man's problems = sin and that we should examine, expose & that He will pour out His repentance on us. Registered Member Posts: 299 (05/01/08 02:01 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I know people working in the ihop organization that love the Lord, just like there are people in the organization I generally attend one of their buildings (assembly of God) who love the Lord. That doesn't mean their aren't people in those organizations that don't need to repent and be told they need to repent. The problem is, once people get into an office approved by other men (district counsel, presidents, pastors, popes, bishops by other names) they tend to think they don't have to listen to or respond to some joe schmoe confronting them with scripture and truth, as if God wants to talk to them, he needs to find someone in a higher man-approved office to do it. Looking through the scripture, that's not how God tends to do things, he tends to use the meek things of this world to rebuke the haughty.

That's why a lot of "ministries" tend to lose their first love, and their gifts after just a few generations. When the "pastor" retires, dies, moves on, etc. they replace him with another guy, generally from outside. Why? well, they were supposed to be trained and equipped to disciple others, but because of infighting, they had to assimilate a board of directors and "select" a set man. Rather than just respecting each other equally, and reinforcing Christian liberty. People get so worried about the "success" of their individual ministry, rather than the body of Christ in that town, they get their eye off of jesus and start focusing on carnal things, like paying the churches bills. The Lord put me on a church board just long enough to see what is wrong with the "system" first hand.

Please understand one thing if you would; when you accuse absolutely, you MUST provide absolute facts, or you are in danger of being one who is a false wittness. I am sure that you have not sat through a 12 hour session of The Call by your false description of this event as a concert; this is somthing that Lou vigorously insists on The Call NOT to be! I was personally in charge of the backline equipment on stage in Cincinnati in January and I can also bear wittness to the PRAYERFULL execution of the music by the people from IHOP that were flown in, as well as all the local musicians who played. So if you still would like to accuse, put up the evidence; prove Lou is not against all sin, prove IHOP is not against all sin, and if you can't you are the sound of one hand clapping. In the same manner you judge, you WILL BE JUDGED.

This is what IHOP means by "signs and wonders"...and I could list lots of other scriptures about Christians performing signs and wonders, Jesus himself said in John 14:12 (after raising Lazurus from the dead) 12I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. I am actually a Pastor...and I have never seen anything in the bible that says "an evil generation will seek signs and wonders." Granted, there may be something in Revelation that IN CONTEXT says and evil generation (as in UNBELIEVERS) will seek to see signs and wonders to make them believe in God but they will not be given to them as Deut. 6:16 says "Do no test the Lord your God" and the word also says "blessed is he who does not see yet believes." Also, to explain IHOP's beliefs about the end times, they do not believe that praying for God to come with "hasten" His coming but as in Revelation 8:3-5 "3Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. 4The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand. 5Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake." The prayers of the saints are necessary for the end to come. God has raised up IHOP and the intercessors there for this very purpose. Now don't just take my word for it as Paul said in 1Thes 5:21 "Test everything. Hold on to the good," please I URGE you to take every scripture and examine it IN context to know that I have not lied. Everything that they do at IHOP is in some way shape or form, biblical. I know, I did an intensive internship there not too long ago, and BELIEVE ME, I am as sceptical as they come. I will admit that some beliefs they had were VERY encouraged but nothing was ever forced on me. But I came out of IHOP refreshed and with more of the word of God within my heart than I had ever had! IHOP sparked a flame and a passion for the word of God that I never had before! As for your son's actions, I cannot account for his feelings or personal choices but I can assure you, he was NEVER taught that there, and IHOP cannot be held accountable for his personal choice for seclusion. During my internship, I contacted my mother and father everyday and it was in fact very much encouraged. But, as you grow closer to God, Jesus even said in Matthew 10:37 "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Jesus said that, therefore your son's choice was Christ-centered. Please, before you speak against something, look it up to make sure it isn't biblical. because everything here was.

I am glad that you had a good experience with IHOP, not everyone does. The one statement that you made above, "Everything that they do at IHOP is in some way shape or form, biblical.", is a very dangerous and very incorrect statement. I have not ever met any man woman or child that I could honestly say that about. If you hold to that statement, isn't that kinda making it about IHOP and setting them in a high place next to or above God? I personally have known some of the leadership people at IHOP for many years, and I can tell you that your statement is absolutely not true. Even if you have never seen them do anything that is not biblical, that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen. In saying "what they do at IHOP is biblical" I meant that there practices, Harp and Bowl, Signs and Wonders, continual prayer etc etc are all started or derived from practices noted in the bible (King David had a house of continual prayer during his reign etc etc). I COMEPLETLY agree that NOT every word spoken at IHOP is dead on and annointed of God but I DARE you to show me a ministry that has ever been 100% of God. In fact, some bible scholars did a study of numerous revivals and ministies and in their examination they found that, to this day, there had never been a ministry or a revival that was over 75% biblical and of God. I know that there is no way that EVERYTHING they do at IHOP is biblical, but concerning many of their practices there, they are, as I said, derived from prayerful, CONTEXTUAL, biblical study. I am a self-proclaimed IHOPer but I am not a drone nor "part of a cult," I am a human and a Christian striving for righteousness everyday, JUST like you. In saying "isn't that kinda making it about IHOP and setting them in a high place next to or above God?" I feel you were very much reading into my statement some "holier than thou" attitude which is very much not the case. On the contrary, Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is very much taught and talked about at IHOP and if you've studied it you'd know it's mostly about how to humble yourself before God and man. And many of the leadership at IHOP are very humble people. BUT, you must also realize that that same leadership ALSO teaches from the passage in Romans that says "for ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God..."...even, God Forbid, IHOPers (that was sarcasam I'll have you know...which is also biblical because if you've read the Prison Epistles you'd know Paul was quite sarcastic in parts of his letters to some of the churches...). Let's recap, we've gone over that the bible says "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." I'm a SINNER, just like you! There are sins within IHOP, just like in every other ministry IN THE WORLD! I will absolutly concede that, but I will not concede that IHOP is cult. The only reason you might call it such a thing is because of misunderstanding or lack of experience/knowledge of the goings on within this ministy. We're all Christians...and if you think people getting together for continual prayer is "of the devil" I would check my bible. King David did it and Acts says that he "did the will of God in his generation" EVEN THOUGH he slept with Bathsheba and killed a man! If Mike Bickle had a child by another woman and killed her husband I would even join in on bashing IHOP, but THANKS be to GOD for his "divine editting" because he saw past David's grevious sins to his heart, and he found a heart after God. And as is says in Proverbs 16:10 "in his heart a man plans his course but God directs his path" I have NO DOUBT God is directing Mike Bickle and the leadership at IHOP's path, even if it doesn't look perfect, because those people have hearts after God. In no way did I misunderstand or even attempt to imply that I knew the motives in your heart. I have never bashed IHOP nor have I ever called them a cult, and I can't imagine that the Lord would allow me to. I have no doubt that God is in charge and in control of all things however, I certainly won't agree that all of the leadership at IHOP have hearts after God. I do believe that there are some in leadership at IHOP that have a real heart for the Lord, but I would not agree that all of them do. I will not name names and am not trying to embarrass or humiliate any one of them. What I believe about some of the leadership at IHOP is not based on what other people say about them and it is not my intent to bash them. I have not just heard about IHOP from others, but have also been to IHOP here in Kansas City. I have known some of the leadership at IHOP for 20 years and still know some that either are in leadership there or have been and left IHOP. I say that just to simply say, that I am not implying anything based on hearsay from other people. I am not implying anything, what I am stating is simple. I believe that there is corruption and deception within the ranks of IHOP that has done much damage to the body of Christ. I also believe that because of what I have experienced and seen in the lives of people that I love, no one short of God will convince me otherwise. If the Lord at some point tells me that it is no longer so, then I will believe Him. I am not pointing a finger and I don't go around telling people not to go to IHOP. I cannot recall ever saying that to anyone and have no intention of doing so. What I do suggest to most everyone concerning every part of their lives is simply for them to ask the Lord and do whatever He tells them to do. God may very well want some people to become involved with IHOP for whatever reason. That is not for me to say. I have simply stated what I know to be true and what I believe. Like I said before, if you had a good experience at IHOP, I'm glad you did. Unless the Lord specifically tells me to, I will not recommend IHOP to anyone. love ya Chris

No, it doesn't take a prophet or even a jet rocket scientist to say, "hmmmm. this ministry says THIS, but the Bible says something different or opposite." God COMMANDS it of all. Not just prophets.

Yep, I BET 24/7 prayer and worship is "of the devil" and "heresy." I will admit, IHOP does have some extreme views but any self-aware Christian will follow scripture to "test everything and hold onto what is good." I will admit some people get caught up in the hype of everything and get false ideas, but believe me, NO ONE was taught to abandon their family for this ministry. You can't blame the institution for a couple peoples overactive zeal. But I quoted JESUS there, if you didn't read...he was the one that said "if you love your father or mother more than me, you are not worthy of me"....and does it really matter anyway? 2Cor 4:17 "for these light and momentary afflictions are earning us an ETERNAL weight of glory that far surpasses them all" so I, personally, would shed any number of personal aquaintance to better able me to focus on God and acheive ALL that He has for me on this earth so that I can get the maximum reward in Heaven FOR ETERNITY. A few upset people for 70 years on this earth is better than a cardboard box in Heaven for eternity; in my view. You can't blame IHOP for teaching a God-centered eternal perspective lest you DON'T want people to seek God with all they have.

The person who is at an upper-level rung on the ladder is merely over-zealous by telling a poor woman's son to disengage in communications? Praise is a good thing, but the Bible does not command that we saturate our lives with 24/7 praise. The Bible specifically states that our work should be praise towards God. The Bible warns against setting ourselves apart in that manner. It does sound like the founder is involved in seeking signs and wonders (which the Word condemns) and in a few "prophecies" that have not come to fruition. The Word tells us not to follow after or involve ourselves with those who have proven themselves to be false prophets. Regardless, many stick their fingers in their ears and say, "la la la la" when they are told that their seer or prophet has missed the mark on yet another of his/her prophecies....and continue to revere him/her.
